LATE 19TH CENTURY MEIJI PERIOD JAPANESE PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM containing 24 albumen print photographs (21 of which hand tinted), images include “713 Ten-Noji Temple, Osaka”; “1576 Buddhist priest”; “166 Interior of Chion – in temple, Saikio”; “1551 tea ceremony”; “1143 pleasure boats on Hotsugawa, Arashiyama”; “673 Horiuji Temple and pagoda, Tatsuta”; “1181 Kasuga, Nara” etc, the majority of images numbered and captioned in the corner of the photograph, small quantity images without numbers or captions including image depicting lady in Kago travelling chair with two bearers; ladies travelling in Jinrikisha with bearers and children etc, oblong, original decorative silk covered boards, gilt (worn), lacks backstrip, all edges gilt, folding concertina leaves
