Three Family First World war casualty medal groups to include memorial plaques to brothers Charles Robert Creasey and Thomas James Creasey, both C company 1/5th Norfolk Regiment both killed during the 2nd battle of Gaza on 19th April 1917 sons of Henry and Barbara Creasey of "Wembley", West Runton, Norfolk. First World War Officer casualty Medal pair, Memorial plaque, scroll and ephemera to 2nd Lieutenant George Henry Clarke together with further First World War medal Trio to J800 John Edward Creasey, Royal Navy.

Charles Robert Creasey:

Born: 1896 in Little Melton, Baptised little Melton on 20th September 1896

Joined army:

Pte 2401961

Thomas James Creasey:

Born 1897, in Roughton

L/Cpl 240197 educated at North Walsham Board school

Enlisted in Cromer

John Edward Creasey

First World War medal trio comprising of 1914-15 star, BWM and Victory medal named to J800 John Edward Creasey Royal Navy. Born 29th July 1891 in Hamfield, Sussex, Son of gardener Henry and Louisa Creasey. Joined the navy on the 29th July 1909. Started as a Boy sailor at HMS Ganges. Served on HMS Maidstone during the First World War, promoted to leading seaman on the 20th May 1917. Served with the Navy for 12 years, and discharged 1921.

1911 census states he was a Domestic Gardner by occupation, Married Lydia Ma Woolmer on Christmas day 1922. 1921 census states his occupation was General Labourer. Died aged 76 in 1968

George Henry Clarke:

First World War British Officer Casualty Medal Pair comprising of 1914-18 War medal and 1914-19 Victory medal, memorial plaque, scroll and ephemera named to 2nd Lt George Henry Clarke (George Henry Creasey). 3rd reserve Bn. Attached to 1st Bn. Norfolk Regiment

Buried at Tannay British Cemetery, Thiennes, France

Born 6th June 1884, North Walsham Board school in 1892 with his older brother Horace. He was born George Henry Creasey (son of Henry and Barbara Creasey) but apparently was adopted in the early 1900's by Emily Clarke, widow(his parents were still alive so not sure why this happened). Her son Robert William looked on George as a brother, George was working for him in 1901. He joined the 8th Batt Northamptonshire Regt,19 Jun 1916 (service no:19702) He received a commission and transferred to The 1st Batt Norfolk Regt, 31 Aug 1917 as 2nd Lt. He reached the front on 12 Nov 1917 just 9 days after his brother Horace was killed at Ypres. He spent the next 5 months with the Battalion in Italy before returning to the front in early Apr 1918.He was killed in action near Tannay on 20 Apr 1918 aged 33 years old. Buried the next day at Cemetery I29D Central. By the time he died he knew that two more of his brothers, Charles and Thomas had also been killed ,they joined up together and sadly they died together on the same day in the same battle, The 2nd Battle of Gaza.
