William Worsley was jointly tried along with Levi Welch who turned Kings evidence and Worsley was then convicted of the fatal blow that killed William Bradbury. Levi was later tried again and convicted for robbing the body of Bradbury but gained a pardon after appeal, on the basis that anyone giving evidence leading to the conviction of the murderer was entitled to a free pardon. William Worsley was hung for the murder of William Bradbury on 31st March 1868, in Bedford.
