Note - it is currently legal for hippo tusks to be bought, sold and used for a commercial purpose within the UK. However, with the proposed extension of the Ivory Ban to include ivory from common hippopotamus, killer whale, narwhal, sperm whale and walrus, this tusk could be one of the last to be legally offered at auction.
