W; IRELAND; SIEGE OF DELHI, RARE AND IMPORTANT AUTHOR'S PROOF COPY; ADAM AND CHARLES BLACK EDINBURGH 1861, rare author's proof copy (re-backed) with some pages of manuscript amendments and deletions. The front papers marked in manuscript W W Ireland, Larbert Institution 1871 (NB a psychiatric institution opened in 1863). Papers also marked in manuscript " Proof Copy, History of the Siege of Delhi by an Officer who served there with a sketch of the leading events in the Punjab connected with the great rebellion of 1857. Edinburgh Adam and Charles Black 1861. papers also include a plan of Delhi and Siege Operations with manuscript note; "The annexed plan is taken from the book of Captain Medley, it is not the same as the one published with the siege of Delhi."

Note; The author, Dr William W Ireland was present at the siege of Delhi where he was severly wounded and lost an eye. Returning to Musselburgh, Scotland he studied mental diseases writing several books on the subject as well as this book on the siege of Delhi.

Payments must be made strictly within 48 hours.

Collections to be made/firm arrangements made known to us if by independent courier strictly within 7 days of saleday.

We reserve the right to charge your registered card if payment is not received within these terms.

Items still on-site after 7 days will be subject to storage fees of £5.00 + VAT per day, per invoice. These must be settled before lots can be released.

If the hammer price is reached in these fees, we reserve the right to cancel the sale and any paid monies will be forwarded to the original vendor and become non-refundable.
