Born 1886 at Stoke Holy Cross, Norfolk. Lived and enlisted Norwich. Son of William and Margaret A. Shingles of 43 Swansea Road, Norwich, and husband of Laura Helen Shingles of 80 Avenue Road, Norwich. Had been employed as a waiter. His brother, Enos, served with the Royal Engineers.
