First World War British casualty 1914 mons star impressed to 6880 Pte W.E. White 1st Battalion Norfolk regiment. Killed in action 27th July 1916 during the Battle of the Somme. Born St. Pauls, Norwich. Enlisted in Norwich and made L/Cpl at the time of his death, commemorated at the Thiepval memorial. Together with another 1914-15 star impressed to 18195 Pte. H. Brown 9th Battalion Norfolk regiment, killed in action on the 1st of May 1917 aged 25 years old. Born in East Tuddenham. Enlisted at Norwich And made l/Cpl at the time of his death. Commemorated at the Loos memorial (2)
