We welcome all speculative applications for employment from experienced auctioneers and specialists in all collecting fields who would like to work with us.
Due to continued expansion, we currently have the following positions available:
Porters (part-time)
Due to continued expansion, we now require one or more part-time porters for two-three days each week.
You will be working as part of a small hard-working team to prepare our auction rooms to a tight schedule ready for our weekly auctions (and to clear them afterwards!). From assisting customers and contractors with collections and deliveries, to presentation of items in the saleroom, photographing auction lots, and packing and unpacking sometimes fragile items, the work is varied and interesting but it does involve some heavy lifting so candidates will need to be physically fit.
You will be adaptable and conscientious, and attention to detail is essential as you will also be preparing internal and customer paperwork and ensuring tidy presentation of the salerooms; a good memory and sense of humour would also help!
This is a variable-hours position, and may include some Saturdays; a good standard of reading and writing is essential, and customer service experience would be an advantage, as would a friendly and polite personality and “can-do” attitude, as you will be dealing with members of the public from all backgrounds on a daily basis. A clean driving license would also be an advantage.
