A team of leading Norfolk antiques experts will be on hand in Bergh Apton on Friday 22nd April, giving local people the chance to get their family heirlooms valued during an Antiques Roadshow style event at the village’s church, which is part of the village’s Jubilee Festival.

A team from Keys Auctioneers and Valuers in Aylsham, described by leading industry publication Antiques Trade Gazette as a ‘Top Tier’ UK auction house, are lending their expertise for the event, which will raise money towards the upkeep of St Peter & St Paul Church, Bergh Apton.

The experts from Keys will be on hand from 10.30am until 4pm to assess all sorts of antiques, fine art and collectables.  The antiques specialists will be offering appraisals and valuations for ceramics, glassware, oriental items, furniture, paintings, books & ephemera, jewellery, silver, clocks and watches.

With the experts giving their time for free, all of the £3 per item valuation cost will be donated to church funds.

“This is a great chance to quiz some of the region’s foremost experts about your family heirlooms,” said David Broom of Keys, one of those who will be providing their expertise on the day.  “People will be able to discover more about their items, as well as receiving an assessment of what they might make at auction.

“Whether you are considering selling your items, or are simply curious about what they are, this is the opportunity to receive an expert appraisal, while helping us to raise money for a great cause as well.”

Anyone seeking a valuation can book an hourly slot to have up to three items assessed (although depending on demand more items may be accepted in the day).  It is possible to turn up without an appointment, although organisers warn this may involve a wait.  For more details, and to pre-book a slot, go to www.bergapton.org.uk/jubileee-2022.
