Single-Owner Collection Of Vintage Tractors, Farm Machinery And Rural Bygones To Go Under The Hammer

An amazing collection of vintage tractors, farm machinery and rural bygones is set to go under the hammer in Norfolk next week.

The sale is drawn from the collection of one anonymous Norfolk collector, who has amassed a huge variety of rural bygones.  It will all be sold on Saturday 2^nd December at Keys Auctioneers in Aylsham.

Highlights of the sale include:

• A Fordson Super Major Tractor in fully restored condition. Fordson was set up in 1917 by Henry Ford, with production moving to the UK in 1920.  The company continued manufacturing tractors through to the 1960s.  The Super Major model dates from the latter part of this period.
• A David Brown 25D tractor, also in fully restored condition. The 25D was built in Yorkshire between 1953 and 1958, and was the diesel variant of the petrol/paraffin powered 25.
• A vintage Allis-Chalmers B tractor, in fully restored condition. The Allis-Chalmers B was launched in 1938, and enjoyed a long production span.  This one has the bowed front axle, which marks it out as an early example.
• A Northbourne Dairy handcart, complete with milk pails, measuring jugs and assorted utensils.

Nick Harding of Keys said, “This is an amazing collection which the vendor has amassed over many years, and which is now coming to auction in its entirety.

“The sheer variety of tractors, farm machinery, wagons and carts, hand tools, and other rural bygones could well make up a museum of Norfolk rural life.  It is a fascinating insight into our agricultural past, and we are expecting strong interest from Norfolk’s rural community at the sale next week.”
