Rare Documentary Lowestoft Porcelain Jug In Keys Fine Sale – With Matching Cover Coincidentally Cons

An important documentary Lowestoft porcelain jug is part of Keys Fine Art Auctioneers three day autumn Fine Sale, which runs from Wednesday 22^nd November to Friday 24^th November.

In bulbous form and decorated in underglaze blue with floral sprays, the central cartouche is inscribed ‘John Gates Larling 1789’.  John Gates was a farmer at Larling in Norfolk where he was recorded as paying Land Tax.

The jug has a pre-sale estimate of £6,000-£8,000.

Coincidentally, the matching cover, with initials and date, has been consigned separately to the same sale by a different vendor, and has a pre-sale estimate of £800-£850.
